Earth Camp

Earth Camp is a 6 day - 5 night residential summer camp for children entering    5th to 8th grades or 10-14 years of age.  Campers will make new friends, will learn skills that promote independence and social growth, and will create lasting memories in a week filled with fun adventures in the outdoors.  Register online here!

Earth Camp takes place at the Rancho El Chorro Outdoor School, off Highway One between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay.  Rancho El Chorro is a 250 acre preserve with hiking trails along Pennington Creek, an oak woodland forest,  a fresh water pond, and  outdoor classrooms.  Facilities include cabins, a central bathhouse, dining hall, auditorium, health center, and an amphitheater with campfire circles.

Earth Camp runs from Sunday afternoon (check-in begins at 4:00 pm) to Friday morning (check-out is at 10:00 am).  Campers will live in small cabins with a Cabin Counselor (ratio 1:7).  Rancho El Chorro’s  Earth Camp staff is very experienced in outdoor education and is well trained to care for and instruct your child.

Cost: $995 per camper if registered by June 2, 2017 ($1095 beginning June 3, 2017)

Cancellation policy:  Refunds will be given if cancellation request is received in writing by June 2, 2017 less a $100 handling fee.  No refunds will be given after June 2, 2017.

Counselor-In-Training Program:
High School students entering 11th or 12th grade and College students are encouraged to apply to be a Counselor-In-Training (CIT).  Earth Camp provides an ideal setting for older teens and young adults to participate in leadership training and development and have a great time with younger campers.  CITs participate in a three-day training program prior to the start of camp.   CITs gain the following skills and certifications:

Cost:   $350 per week (to cover room and board).  No cost for training days.
