Per California and San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department guidelines to shelter-in-place due to the COVID-19 virus, Rancho El Chorro Outdoor School remains closed until further notice. All June sessions of S.O.A.K. Camp are cancelled. We are truly sorry that we are unable to offer this wonderful program to children. Refunds will be issued to all parents. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Student Registration Form

The Rancho El Chorro Outdoor School will offer Summer Outdoor Adventures for Kids (SOAK) Camp in June 2020. Nestled between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay off Highway One, Rancho El Chorro Outdoor School is a 250-acre preserve with hiking trails along Pennington Creek, an oak woodland forest, a pond, classrooms, and an outdoor amphitheatre. Take advantage of this wonderful local program, which brings kids closer to nature and provides loads of fun and adventure. We are a part of the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education.

SOAK Camp provides your child with fun-filled days and adventure in the outdoors. SOAK Camp is for elementary-aged children. Children ages 6-8 years are Lil Squirts and children 9-12 are Big Squirts. Six year olds must have completed Kindergarten.

SOAK Camp runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. (free childcare from 7:30 to 9:00 am and from 4:00 to 5:30 pm). Early registration (before April 30th) is $290 per week/per child. Beginning May 1, 2020, the registration fee increases to $315.

Week 1: Stamp Your Passport - June 8-12

Become a world traveler in only 5 days! Every day promises fun and exploration as you learn about the games, animals and legends from a new continent. Bring a sense of adventure but leave your suitcase at home.  

 Week 2: Animal Olympics - June 15-19

If animals could be in the Olympics, who would win the hundred meter sprint? Who would win the high jump? Be the best gymnast? Learn interesting animal facts and test your own skills in this fun filled week to gear up for Tokyo 2020!

 Week 3: Junior Naturalist - June 22-26

Do you have what it takes to be a naturalist? These nature lovers are scientists, artists, and even detectives. Sharpen your skills as you investigate this diverse and varied career.

New this year: We are accepting a limited number of CIT (Counselor in training) positions for ages 13-17. The cost is $150 per session. For further information or to register please call 805-782-7336.
